Jay Caldwell

Deputy Director, Australia Pacific Security College

Jay Caldwell is the Deputy Director at the Australia Pacific Security College. He is an educator focused on the interaction between academic research and government effectiveness. Jay was the Director of Professional Education at the National Security College (NSC), ANU from 2016-2019. Prior to that appointment, Jay had fourteen years of experience in the public service focused on national security and how central agencies can better support decision-makers. Jay joined the ANU from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C), where he worked on international policy, crisis management and support to the office of two Prime Ministers. He commenced his public service career at the Office of National Assessments, leading the Open Source Centre’s Pacific Team.
