Mark Ninyett

Inspector, Western Australia Police Force

Mark is an Aboriginal, Noongar man with Scottish and Baltic heritage. He has a career spanning 33 years with the Western Australia Police Force and a broad range of frontline, investigative and corporate experience having worked in and alongside many state, federal and international agencies during his career. Mark was the first Aboriginal person appointed to the Executive Corporate Board of the WA Police Force.

Mark has a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University and holds an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) from the University of WA.

Mark was awarded for his academic achievements with the IPAA Achievement Award for the Public Sector Management program in 2008 and the Australian New Zealand School of Governments CICSO Systems Prize in 2012.

Thinking globally and acting locally, Mark has achieved strategic priorities and coordinated a number of safety and social justice initiatives across Government to deliver public value and support reconciliation between police, non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal people across WA.
